So many good points - and beautifully made!

I'm not on any social media apart from Substack - and gosh, it's certainly made a difference to how I live my life, as well as my enjoyment of it. 😊

Thank you, Rebecca. I’m so glad to hear that. It’s as if you’re in ‘real life’ isn’t it? 😂 We get so caught up with our online lives, that it become the main focus.

But we don’t even realise when we’re doing it, just feels like part of life!

This is very weird. Just today I saw three or four comments in Office Hours where folks acknowledged that Substack is indeed another social media. It wasn't supposed to be that way I think, but little by little it seems to be creeping into people's comments. Before, it was stuff like "I'm glad Substack isn't social media", and now I see more like "It's great that Substack isn't like *other* social media."

Anyhow, just jumping in because it caught my attention - and I enjoyed the article. Thanks Slart!

Thanks for reading Victor! Yes I have been thinking about this a lot. I guess Notes is more like social media, but the thing with Substack, it’s a writing platform which is hybridised into an email list too. I guess the notes function is optional to use, but it’s been great for discovering new writers.
