Love the growth brother!!!

As a shy kid, my dad put me in situations where I had to speak up all throughout my youth and early adolescence. Now I find myself doing the same for my 7 yo as well as myself.

Absolutely! My dad didn’t have the language or experience to affirm my feelings like I can for my son but the lesson, “I can do hard things,” stuck.

Do think the religious community you grew up in plays a part not “putting yourself forward “ — so to speak ?

Hey Ruth, no my dad was an atheist and my mum was only religious as a child. I think my mum spoke a lot for me as a child though as I was so painfully shy.
