This hits 🔥 and gives a perspective that i've never considered before:

i always felt that if i didn't include a price on my art, it would be "mysterious" and lead to a conversation and a more "meaningful" sale.

but, there are so many options out there- people need that immediate answer to gauge if it's worth their time if something is out of their budget.

i am curious about how some of these perspectives would apply to commission work. e.g. having a flat rate vs a project based pricing. 🤔

Hey fellow Steve! Nice to meet you. Thanks for checking out my post. I’m glad it resonates. You are talented and more people need to see your art.

You are right, in some respects perhaps it’s ok not to show a price at an exhibition but more often than not, if there’s no price or way to buy, people won’t go out of their way.

There are many options out there and people have budgets. There are people who have a higher budget than us and are willing to pay for work they love.

How do you normal charge commission work? The good thing is, you can be creative with that too.

Great post about great art! And that's SUCH a fabulous idea, to show it in a selection of scenarios like that! 🙌

It’s something that just clicks @Beth Raps, it’s commerce, I know art is emotional to the artist but you can get emotional when you’re painting it, not being afraid when you’re selling it.

I used to think (My art isn’t selling = it’s no good) but the fact is, the right person hasn’t found it yet. The right person will love it.
