Beautiful and touching post, thank you for sharing.
Two thoughts came up in my head while I was reading it:
1. Thoughts of quantum immortality, how it would be the best of both worlds, dying every second but also living forever, but also the worse hell I could imagine.
2. Teachings from Buddhism that say to treat every out breath as death, the person you are when you breath in is not the same person breathing out. I've heard it said that the in breath is birth, the out breath is death and what you do in-between is life. Remember to pay attention to life.
Thanks for reading! Beautiful and touching comments too. Quantum immortality just blew me away, I’ve never even considered that, so thanks 🤯 and the Buddhist saying is very apt, I’ve heard a lot of people saying the same thing to me.
I don't know of any non-fictional reading on quantum immortality, I actually learned about it from a game called Control back in 2019 and then read the Wikipedia page on it. There are many fictional writings on the topic I know of if you want those.
Yes please, fictional would be great. On a slightly different topic but along similar lines. I was listening to a podcast with Artist Karla Knight and her grandfather wrote “Learning to Talk to the World Beyond / Ralph Knight -1969” I was so fascinated by the title of this lesser-know book, I bought it. I can’t wait to read it!
Thank you SLART for this beautiful post. The tributes to your loved ones are a touching reminder (as is your loving-in-your-face-reminder to us, the reader) to live fully and be as present as we can be. I appreciate your explanation of the newspaper background in your painting, well done!
Thanks for reading, I always appreciate seeing you in the comments. I try to make sure my posts are uplifting but I can’t choose how someone reads it. You’ve got my point beautifully 🙏

I remember when I learned about quantum immortality, it ruined a whole week for me.
Wow, that sounds horrible! Hope you’re ok now though. I’m curious, do you have any recommended reading?
