Wow, some really interesting, poignant and deep stuff in here SLART. You clearly have a complex sense of inner self and your personal narrative to be able to whip out 50 facts of such quality! Well done.
“Whip out 50 facts of such quality” - I agree! Now I understand what “SLART” stands for. And it’s true, as you say, Steven/SLART: this is more endearing than an About page. I will give this some thought. …
Thank you for reading, Tara. Yes, Steven Light ART, but also it sounded a bit self deprecting. I'll let you figure out the word play :-D
Appreciate your kind words. I'd love hear your 50 shades, it's amazing how it makes you feel closer to a person. I've never been one for small talk and try to get to know someone on a deeper level where I can.
Appreciate your attention, Jamal! It kinda poured out of me, we all have experieces in life that we think are normal, but when you share them, you realise that either others can relate, or they are quite different to what most people experience. Either way, I enjoyed sharing other parts of my self. Will you accept the challenge?
Wow, such an awesome post! I've even made NOTES on it! Wanna see? Okay then! (numbers relate to your numbers).
3. Awesome. Am going to have a closer look at your book!
5. Wow - size 12+ feet! I'm mostly an 8 but take a 9 in (men's) running shoes and (men's) walking boots. Girl sizes only seem to got up to 7 or 8, and I've got jolly big feet. 🙄
7. Blue's my favourite colour, too.
24. I got a B for GCSE art, too - I have no idea how, because I spent the entire two years of art lessons sulking because I was REALLY CROSS that I wasn't allowed to switch to physics.
25. German is an awesome language - I love it too! I focused on it too much, though - and my German prowess, combined with the fact that I'd learned to touch-type at warp speed before I headed off to university, meant that I ended up working as a bilingual secretary and didn't get much further. I feel I missed out big time by not learning other stuff alongside the German (and I don't mean typing!).
Oh wow, I didn't - but as she's from the US I suspect that Paris Hilton's feet are a US size 11 - which in women's sizing corresponds to a UK 9 - https://www.famousfootwear.com/shoe-size-charts - and that means that I can say 'my walking boots would fit Paris Hilton!' 🙌
I don't really use my German much, but take the opportunity whenever it comes up, and watch German TV and YT videos now and again. I remember giving some German visitors to our village directions to get to the nearest town, and I gabbled away in German in great detail, explaining every twist and turn and junction to them. Once they'd set off, the friend who was with me asked 'Rebecca, what's the German word for roundabout?' I replied that the last time I'd driven in Germany was 15 years ago, when their road system was only about traffic lights and overpasses, so I didn't know. 'Yeah, I could tell', he said. 'You kept saying ROUNDABOUT!'
🙄
'Kreisverkehr', for the record. I looked it up when I got home! 🤣
Oh, I wasn't allowed to swap to physics because 'you've already missed too much'. Yeah, it was two weeks into term when I realised I'd made the wrong decision, and that was 'too late'. Hateful.
Ah, I always thought US sizing was 1 size below us, NOT TWO! You've shattered my sense of reality! :-D
Kreisverkehr haha we have the "Magischer Kreisverkehr" in Swindon. I'm impressed that you can give directions. Mine is very basic, I try to order food when I go to Germany but they normally reply in English.
Ah no, that's crazy. I wonder how different your life would have been doing physics as opposed to Art? I always wonder about things like this, like if I went to Uni to study Art. I was just too socially anxious to go to Uni, the idea of it filled me with dread, so I studied Multimedia at my local college instead. Which put me on the trajectory of working with websites.
I'm glad I found art again though, as I have so much to express after 20 years. Not that art must be about expression, but it does to me!
Tremendous stuff. You have the most interesting facts about yourself to share. I thought I knew a good bit about ya but I didn't! I looked up Henry Harrison Brown, and your book on Amazon. I'm so glad you shared your book with us again, I hadn't seen it. And glad you shared #40, understanding how hard that was at the same time. And so much more. So much depth! Just wow. Thanks, SLART!
Thank you Beth! Oh you do know a lot about me but there’s always so much more :-) appreciate your kind words. It was hard to share, but it came to mind and I just had to express it. Appreciate you! 🙏 will we see 50 shades of @Beth Raps?

Thank you @Clancy Steadwell, I have a lot of memories! 😂 will you accept the challenge?
I’m thinking about it…I am not sure I am actually up to it ha! I don’t know if there’s 50 things.
You’ll find them. It can be literally anything.

Layers man - so many layers.
I laughed, I cried.
And I got way too hung up on Teenage Mutant freaking HERO Turtles 😶
All I can reply is ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
and hahahahahahha!
I know, because I was indoctrinated on the HERO I always correct people when they say NINJA. It's the UK Vs the US Office all over again!!!
Wow!!! I feel like you took me on a bit of a journey with you!
Respect for the vulnerability too 💪🏽

I’m going to decline but I love that it offers the opportunity to connect over rare experiences!
Ok, no problem at all! Yes, it certainly does. Have a great weekend!
You too!
Cheers! Do you have any exciting plans?
Going zip-lining and on a cave tour later today!
How about you?

Oh wow, it’s nice to see how your points relate!
Thank you. I’ve never really promoted it apart from when it first came out. I probably Sold 20 copies:
Did you know Paris Hilton has size 11 feet?
Oh great, do you still use German at all?
Physics and Art? Chalk and cheese. Or maybe not. Why didn’t they let you swap? :-(

No, never, SLART. Nothing will induce me to post on Substack when I already have my own blog!
I admire your loyalty to your own platform and respect that decision!
